4.57R, performance changes
you have an ap2. so i would attribute the slow time to the fact that you now require a 5th gear shift, where as before you would end the 1/4 mile at the top of 4th.
on an ap2, that will be drag raced, i would work on the motor first. IMO, when you HAVE to shift to 5th due to the added power and quicker time/higher trap, its time for gears. because at that point, you're already shifting into 5th but not using it much. add gears and you're good to go.

I was really suprised that I didn

question - What does the R stand for in the 4.57R compared to just 4.57's ?

I know exactly how you feel too... people ask a lot of dumb questions on this board and I know it gets tiring being one of the few oh-so-knowledgable ones
I used to be a moderator on a cichlid forum (it's a type of aquarium fish) as I have had a lot of experience raising and breeding African cichlids. I resigned from my position after about a year because I couldn't take all the dumb questions that were repeated over and over, and the people that would specifically go against things I said were best (and influence others to do things wrong!) and the people would would'n't read the damned FAQ's I made

First, you have the 2.0L 2006, which is not what we have here in the states. With the 9K redline of the 2.0L, you don't have to shift into 5th before you cross the line. Second, what other mods do you have on your car to trap 110mph? Some people with superchargers aren't trapping that high... you must have extensive mods to be doing that NA.
Like a lot of people on here, I have contemplated gears for my AP2. But as for the quartermile times, I can totally see why the addition of 4.57s, which WOULD require me to make the shift to 5th before I crossed the line, would offer a minimal improvement in my overall time. In the quartermile, people either lose time on their launch, or in their shifting. I run a pretty consistent 14.1-14.0 in the quartermile bone stock in my AP2. I would guess that with 4.57s and the extra shift, I'd be looking at maybe a 13.8. But that's just a guess.
I'm waiting on someone that has run the quartermile a few times stock in an AP2 to go an get the 4.57s and then run the quartermile again. If I ever get gears, I will do this... but I would imagine someone who already has them would be able to do this a lot quicker.

I tried 5500 rpm starts, 3500 and 6000. @3500 the car bogged, 5500 and 6000 rpm the car did an ok start.
I just could believe that I didn't get under 14 secs. My old '00 did 14.3 bonestock in my first run. 14.00 after a couple of runs. Maybe the 17" wheels are making the car that much slower? Maybe I suck as a driver.
