Default 4 choices opinions......

Lehman posting again.....

Ok, help me out with any input here 4 choices.

1) New CR no A/C radio.....29,800 OTD

2) 01 or 00...don't remember a local fellow autoxer is selling his car...he told me he will be getting I think a 350Z instead as I think it's his only car. He's asking approx 8,000 .....80,000 something miles maybe 88,000. Car is salvage title....maybe wreck or theft before he bought it. I have seen him race this car a bit...never paid much attention in the past, but now that I am thinking about the car. Car is silver

3) A local old guy racer, and obsessive car nut is selling his GPW...03....about 55,000 miles...one owner car...(this guy also has a white CR). Looking to sell this car tan interior....this dude is a real nut with the documentation and maintenence.
Since the car was new he told me he has had kept a record of how many times the top was down.....180 times. I believe him, as he is one eccentric local racer/ old guy know it all that I have known for 8 years----real nice but pretty eccentric (but then again people say I am nuts).....

I am thinking he wants at least 14,000 for the car....maybe I tell him crappy economy.....12,000 take it or leave it.

4) Do nothing....would make the wife happy....as I have a luxo daily BMW lease, and a horrible street car---amazing ASP autox car...not getting rid of that.

Just can't get the S out of my mind for a fun vert....used to own an Elise, but sold it last year. Whatever I get I don't want to take a bath if I change my mind.

Any opinions ? For a weekend toy, and who knows a local autox here and there..

Fire away.......

Thanks

Lehman

CRs have been routinely had for less.

It really depends on what you want, and... mostly how much you're willing to spend.

Personally an extra weekend car (that's pretty decent) for $8k sounds appealing. I would pay less though for that '01 if it's got a salvage title.

I would say option number 3. You definitely know that the car has been taken care of and also well maintained.

Tack one more on for the 03. Sounds like he's about 110% on par with the maintenance and up-keep. Go for it!

Dave, option 2 or 3. You know 4 is not an option.

If you're not going to race the wheels off the car, option 3.

If you're going to treat it like a dirty, dirty whore, option 2.

03 ftw. Well documented car will always resell much better. IF you ever decide to sell it, anyway

Don't go salvage for 8k. 03 sounds legit.

Option 3 for sure. You know exactly what you are buying. No surprises!
