If you can live without ac and radio I'd take rhe cr. Otherwise the 03.

03 GPW. But don't be a dick and try and shaft someone who has meticulously taken care of his baby just b/c the economy is in a rut. $14k seems reasonable for an '03 with 55k miles in mint condition.

of those options, you'd do best to get the 03.

the fact that you want to be able to sell without taking a bath rules out the CR IMO. if you buy that, you'll suck depreciation pretty hard the first year or two with the soft economy. great car--especially if you get the radio/ac so your wife will ride in it--but you're going to lose your shirt at first relative to the other two options.

and the salvage, while the price is appealing... i'd get the sure thing.

but i'd also consider finding an 00-01 for $10k as a good option.

I drove the 03 today.

Very detailed records...almost too much.

Car had 16 hours on the track, a bunch of autox's....and get this 2 friggin RALLY CROSSES.

He was very honest about the car, and is quite the eccentric car nut----but he also put a armour all like substance on most of the inside surfaces of the car...not as bad as armour all mind you......but shiny looking and certainly not my taste.

He also had a personalized vinyl stripe on the car about 2" wide for the last 6 years...when it's removed....I think the paint may look slightly different.

I hope he sells the car to someone that will love that car....just not me.

Thinking about the CR with no A/C radio....

Black ? (cooler looking IMHO)

Yellow...stands out well, a bit loud...on the eyes...very sharp ?
-------------
I think I am leaning BB

---------------------

6 months later and 2,500 miles could I sell the car that was OTD 29,800 for 20,000 even if the economy worsens ?

Opinions ?

It really seems like you've been leaning towards the CR the whole time. Usually when I find myself fighting those kind of compulsions... I ultimately wind up losing. So now I just recognize it and give in early.

I think you'll wind up getting the CR, no matter what people tell you.

I'd personally get a nice Laguna Blue 06 for $17k.
Who knows what the CR will be worth. Certainly the AC and radio delete will turn off a lot of people. But you could probably get $22k for it if you trade it in 6 months.

But then again, if you bought the $8k one, it'd never depreciate past $5k for the forseeable future. Even with a salvage title. Some kid with some cash saved up will buy it.
