I bought my car 6 months ago, and Honda sent me a letter in the mail today saying that I should come in and get a "6 month" service done. (oil change, fluids, wipers, etc.) I had my oil changed about 3,500 miles ago.(syn. oil) Which I hear you dont have to change quite as often. My question is, do I really need to get this service done? I bought my car from a Honda dealership, as a certified used vehicle, so it should have had everything done if needed. Any help would be appreciated.
p.s. I've got 34,500 miles on it.

The dealer is just trying to drum up business. My dealer does this all the time. They're also getting very good at finding little additional things that "really need to be looked at" when all I brought the car in for was an oil change. Last time it was, "we looked at your tires (even though I didn't ask them to do that) and there's some feathering wear on the outer edges. You need a four wheel alignment!"

OTOH, there are other routine maintenance items besides oil changes. Just check the maintenance schedule in the owners manual against the mileage on your car. It could be that you really are due for some upkeep at this point in time. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you have the monly, i'd say go ahead and let them do it... just to check up on your car. better safe than sorry. but then again, its all up to you.

Check your car's milage against the owner's manual recommended service intervals. Just go by the manuals guidelines.

The letters are most likely an automated form letter printed off from the dealer's customer tracking system. Chances are you'll get another around the one year anniversary of your purchase and one a year for four years there after.
