About to buy a used s2k
I went to a used dealership today to check out a silver s2000. The car is in excellent condition with 25k mileage for listing price of $18,900.
I tried to bring it down to $18,000 out the door. The salesman asked if I was gonna get it today if he gets me that price. I said yeah. He went to ask the manager who was the owner's son and came back said $19,100 out the door price. I thanked him and got up and left.
I'm waiting for them to call me. Do you guys think $18,000 out the door is a fair price to ask. I'm thinking about calling them tomorrow and offer them $18,500.
Suggestions?

OK just my 2 cents. i think you should look at
-the s2ki cars for sale forum
-ebaymotors
-autotrader
-and finally the dealer inventory (used) of all honda and maybe acura dealers in your area
find s2000s of comparable mileage/year to the one(s) you're looking at. mass email all of them asking for their best price. take the best price you get back and use it as leverage to negotiate down the price on the couple that you really want (eg only silver ones, only the one you are discussing in your original post). then buy.
IMO going to a dealers office to negotiate sucks hard. they pull all kinds of stupid crap like the 'i'll go ask my manager' every 5 seconds... just cut that crap right out and do everything by email. sooooo much simpler.
