Default Great 02' S2k price!!!

I went to Mike Harvey today to see the 02' Silver s2000 that they said they had already but they aren't getting it until next Monday. I asked what the out the door price of the car would be and they gave me the best offer i was shocked, a whoopin 50k out the door. I said thanks, i'll be back next week with the money.

I remember Mike Harvey Acura was asking $33k for a Type-R the same week I bought mine (locally) for $25k. What I really want to know, is if there are really a sufficient number of dumb people in the Bay Area willing to pay $5000+ over MSRP for S2000s given their current ready availability. Most used 2000s from Honda dealers are in the $38k+ range here.

I think most of the problem is that there are still people out there who think that they should buy from their local dealer to get better service or some such malarkey.

People in the Bay Area with half a clue will generally go to Sacramento, Fresno, or out of state to get their car for MSRP.

Damn, what a rip-off. I don't think any dealer down here in So Cal will mark it up that much.

Don't the dealers in No Cal know that the internet boom is over??

Exactly, but some kid at my school who lives in the "Rich" area is going to buy it. He's paying the 50k...

OK- I'm a couple of thousand miles away in the tundra of Upstate New York where we have to deal with snow (the worst 4-letter word in the English language) and the dealer I bought my '02 S2 from at MSRP (it is easy out here to get MSRP, you just have to ask) said he sold one to a customer who lives in CA. The customer is having his sister drive it out to CA (she lives close to me) and then he will fly her back home. The customer figures he will save money even though he has to pay for the gas, lodging and the plane fare. WOW. I can't believe there are Dealers still marking up the price so much!

For those members who are unaware, we have a listing of dealers willing to sell at MSRP. Go to: https://www.s2ki.com/library/dealers/index.php$session[sessionhash]

Try San Leandro Honda. They should have one now. Let me know how it goes.
