About to remove the windshield tape...

My MY00 still has this tape and Im not sure if I want to take it off because of the paints condition underneath...

OK, I'm gonna do it!
I was just noticing.... does the tape go underneath the rubber weatherstripping?
Will the tape come out from under the rubber?

THe best way to get the residue off is to go to a good paint store and get some 3m adhesive remover, it takes the stuff off in no time.
