Add one more s2k to the bay area!
Well, it all worked out! I picked up my brand new 2001 s2000 yesterday at the dealership and HAD NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER! I walked in expecting one price, paid it and left with an ear to ear grin. There were only 6 miles on the odomoter! WOO HOO!
I picked it up in LA and drove it back along 1/101 (thanks for all the tips guys) and boy was it beautiful! Thanks so much everyone for all the tips, I attribute the smoothness (and price: MSRP) of the deal to tips that you all gave me. You'll be hearing a lot more of me now that I actually have something to talk about! Thanks again!

I got it silver exterior black interior. I picked up on Sunday at Penske Honda in Ontario california. I got if for MSRP plus lojack ($695) and a car cover ($220) plus tax/license. It all came to about $36878 total (including tax and everything).
Everything went smoothly. I went in expecting to pay the aforementioned price and left paying it. No hard sell or shady dealings. I had a really good experience with Penske, they seemed really professional and I couldn't complain too much. I attribute this to the past 9 months or research I did on the car through the various boards and through talking with owners. This got me a lot more respect at the dealership as surprise, I knew a little more about the car than my dealer.
First impressions: An amazing, amazing car! All my fears about noise, oversteer etc were totally off base. This is the most amazing car I have ever driven and well worth the wait. Just hit VTEC yesterday (at 620 miles) and boy was that an experience. I'm looking forward to definately seeing a bunch of members at the next bay area meet!
