Unhappy Advice needed

Our 2008 S2K was the victim of a rear-end collision this past Friday. The car is a one owner, pristine, 37k miles vehicle. The KBB trade in value is $26k. No way would we sell this car for $26k - we would probably turn down $260k just based on sentimental value. I am concerned that the insurance company for the at fault driver is going to try to total our CR. Any advice on where I can get a true sales value? Any advice on how to negotiate with the insurance company?

You can find a lot of prices in the CR forum here. Unmolested CRs are most definitely trading for more than 26k. You'll have to negotiate, their first offer is not what you have to accept.

What color and is it a delete model? Cost to replace could be as much as 35k.

Definitely negotiate. They are usually trained to negotiate on facts. Make sure they've got every detail that can bring the value up. Don't forget about diminished value if they don't total it.

With that mileage you shouldn't get a penny less than 30k

If it's totaled, they will not get 30K no matter how much arguing they do with the adjuster.

Unfortunately sentimental value doesn't add anything lol. I used to work as an Adjuster and quite often, NADA guides were more in line with the Valuation company used for that specific state. KBB was usually much higher and at times, not realistic.

Glad you and your passenger are okay, hopefully you'll get the funds out of what you're somewhat looking for, seems that these CRs are becoming rarer by the day.

Best of luck.

Sorry to hear. When i totaled my 05' s2k the insurance company low balled me big time. Id try your best to find CR's for sale and print those ads out to use as a bargaining chip. I argued with my insurance and they ended up giving me much more for the car. I don't know if $35k is possible, but i would def argue if they came to me at $26k. Good luck.
