Advice needed, have to replace S2k -- Prelude, RSX-S ...?
I don't know how it works in Canada, but in most U.S. States, if you trade in your car, you pay tax on the difference between the new car price and the trade in price. If you sell privately, you pay sales tax on the full amount of the new car.
In my neck of the woods, for instance, a $28,000 trade in saves almost $2,000 in sales tax, so I would have to sell the car for $30,000 privately just to break even...

Thanks for all the suggestions.. wow.. Much appreciated
I am going test driving this weekend to see what I can find. I did consider the WRX, but it is a little out of the price range, for the same price I can pick up a BMW 3 series w/ options
I am going to test drive the prelude and a bunch of other cars and see what I like. I really don't want to part with the car, but I will see how the weekend goes.
As far as used, I don't really want to pick one up b/c the finance and lease rates that the banks charge are insane for used cars (I have seen almost double prime before)
unless I can find someone that wants me to take over their lease.
I think I will try and sell it privately. The dealer will give me $40k and I can probably sell it myself for $43k
I will still keep in touch with you guys, some you I remember from H/A net, before the car was even released.
Thanks for all the support

I test drove the RSX and it a nice drive but it felt a little strange as far as the look and feel of the car. I do like the performance though. I owned a 97 Prelude SH for 4 years before I got my Stook and I loved it. The ATTS steering was really fun on the twisties. You'll probably get more looks in the RSX for a while and get a little more utility out of it, but I'd probably still do the Lude again. But I'm biased.
