AEM V2 + VAFCII = 21rwhp w/dyno plot
I installed the AEM V2 Cold Air Intake myself with little effort. The detailed installation instructions made for a swift installation. The initial test drive had me sold right off the bat. The deep rumble when nearing WOT will sell anyone who has an S2000.
A few days later, I installed a VAFCII (with Boomslang Plug-and-Play Harness) and took it up to my tuning shop to have them dyno and tune the VAFCII. I had no interest in attempting this myself!
I was pleased when I picked up my car and saw the dyno sheet with the following
Stock: 190 rwhp/??? lbft
w/AEMv2 only: 200 rwhp/130 lbft
w/AEMv2 + VAFCII: 211.4 rwhp/132.6 lbft
All in all, this was an excellent set of mods and I absolutely recommend that anyone who doesn't have these two items pick them up.
Total cost of project was:
VAFC2 - $200
Boomslang Harness - $149
AEM CAI - $275
Dyno Tuning - $125
TOTAL: $749

Nice results. Had you dyno'd your S when it didn't have the intake?

"Interesting" torque curve. Loopy. Any idea why it's so inconsistent compared to a typical stock S2000 dyno?

also, the V2 cause resonance problems too, making odd dips in the curves.

When I did the VAFC I and harness, my tunner found 8 WHP and 6 lbs. tq. at 2600 feet elevation. I was happy with that amount. You seemed to have gotten much more. Congrats.

if these mods were not done on the same day as the baseline, these numbers mean nothing....... 10 peak WHP from the V2 and 2 WHP from the VAFC...... more like the other way around, and that should tell you something about dynoing on different days... ROFL
