You haven't quite gotten internet dry humour, have you?

He also specified that it was a "Motomaster".

My Optima Yellow Group 51 just died, just over a year. Daily use and not too powerful a stereo. The store where I purchased said I am eligible for a prorated replacement. But they don't have an Optima in the stock size, Group 51. Does anyone if it is wise to try to fit any of the other sizes?

I am upset with Optima and feel right now that it is money down the drain. Do others feel that way? Has anyone been able get any money back from Optima?

Working for a WD who distributes Optima I feel your pain.
Over the last year Optima has had some issues... until recently almost every battery they sell was on factory back order. I heard excuses from the supplier of their cases, to they had just had some bad batches of batteries.
If you peruse the net, you'll find quite a few complaints about the Optimas from the past 2 years... Take it for what's worth though, seeing as the batteries have been around for years and have had quite a good following too.
Their name has carried them through the last year is my opinion. we will see if the new stock they have been shipping is any better.

Like S2000Gt mentioned, they had stop making the yellow top for our application, or as Optima put it, "Engineering Hold". To me, it just mean that they know their battery suck, and is being redesign with the fix. But I wouldn't hold my breath for the supposely improved one either.

I just purchased and installed a Canadian Tire MotoMaster battery for my S2000. I got the $109.99 3 year full replacement and 9 year pro rated. BONUS: for $9.99 extra I was able to triple my warranty! 9 YEAR FULL REPLACEMENT! They just started this extension program.

Does Delco have a battery for our s2k's? My expierence with Delco sealed 7yr batteries have always been positive. Also paying 120-130 for a battery in my opinion is not expensive. Think about it if your battery lasts at least 5 years, it's not much at all. I would stay away from the cheaper ones. You'll probably end up leaking...or cell short=Alternator full fielding too long=alternator replacement. After all the battery is the heart of the primary and secondary ignition. I believe you get what you pay for with automotive batteries. All is just my expierence/opinion.
