I believe you get what you pay for with automotive batteries.

Apparently not with the Optima Yellow group 51

This can also apply to some other aftermarket automotive parts as well.
Some people think that just because they paid "through the nose" for something for their car, it's just GOTTA be better ................................. NOT!

Well don't buy into gimmicks.....I remember optima batteries claiming "no leak" "install in any position". Honda does still use Delco batteries as OE equiptment. Im just going off OE brand usage. Lets see japanese makes use companies such as CALSONIC, NGK, DENSO, ASIN, TOKICO, KYB, ETC....maybe to save money and increase a gimmick company profit margins lets all install bosch plus 4's and have incomplete combustion. or install an autozone "paintjob" reman. alternator. Aftermarket coolant hoses because they last as long as OE's. The same as drive belts. I've seen 85 accords with the original drive belts hmmmmm? the facts go on and on.....the quality of hondas, toyotas is not an accident. I am new to these web boards, BUT I am not new to cars. I am L1 ase certified tech. I have 7 honda modules(factory training)under my belt. I have several toyota modules. On top of the certs I currently work for an independant shop that only services japanese imports. At my job that I been at for 14 years, I do smog as well as repair. There is a big difference between doing it for a living...and not. I am very disapointed with all the bashing going around this board. People that do one engine swap and think that they are mechanics. I take my trade seriously. Enough of my lies All just be well

Braille's lightweight batteries are the best lightweight batteries in my opinion.

I've used the all season battery for 2 years on my RSX-S in cold climates, and it still runs great. It's a little pricy though, at about $190 for the all season battery and +$15 for the universal adapter, but you can make your own for cheap.

Check it out at:

How many suckers does it take to screw in an overpriced battery?

Wow. Looking at my receipt, it is $85.88 (CDN) for part #31500-SH1-C01JB Battery 51-410CCA

Either I was given an inferior battery or you dealer is ripping you off.
Is that the part number for the OEM S2000 replacement battery? I've read somewhere else on this forum (I can't remember from what post) that it was .....

31500-SB2-100M

Maybe US and Canada have different ways of numbering their parts? Can someone confirm? Just want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks.

Pretty sure that no matter what Honda number you use, you will not get an OEM battery. The OEM is a Panasonic.
