Aftermarket header
should I expect any gain in power if I install lets say a Mugan header with stock intake and exhaust on a 05' S?
will I get a different in sounding wise?
can someone tell me what is a header for? and why didnt honda make their header like the mugan so its more efficent on the motor?
I know....Im a newbie

From the dyno's I've seen the Mugen header is OK with mid-range gains. Toda and J's seem to be better. I've got the Toda, and there is a difference, got around 7-10 WHP mid-range, 5-7 WHP peak with stock intake and stock exhaust. It's not going to blow you away, but it is nice. If it's worth the $$$ that's for you to decide. The pipes are little thinner, so there is a little more noise up front, easy to get used to.
A header or exhaust manifold takes the exhaust out of the engine and collects it to the cat and muffler. A good header uses tuned pipes to scavange the exhaust better, reducing pumping losses, freeing up some power over certain rev ranges. Honda already designed a very good header, that's why replacements have "minimal" improvements if any.
