Lots of haterz up in this thread

This whole hellaflush fad is not a "lifestyle". It's not innovative, new, or different. It looks retarded and degrades the performance of your car. End of story.

Aggressive offsets are fine. As others have said, track prepped cars frequently run aggressive wheel setups with meaty tires. However, the Hellaflush crowd has redefined "aggressive" to mean wheel/tire combos that aren't even remotely close to fitting.

There's a very big difference between real aggressive:

...and Hellaflush "aggressive":

The stretched tires and madd camber setups.. imo what a waste of effort

Man, back in the day when I was growing up, people actually tried to keep their cars nice.

Never thought I'd see the day when this was standard practice:

Those flared front fenders look like shit by the way. If u can't turn the wheel without worrying about destroying your front fender because you have 255's and a 17x9.5 FRONT wheel with a +38 offset, that is officially RICE. End of the story...

Didn't stretched tires come from the VW scene? I wouldn't even feel safe rolling on tires whose sidewalls were being forced to flex on oversized wheels. But non-sunk wheel fitment does look great. It's when you slam your car with the body resting on the stretched-tire-exposed wheel lip that looks stupid. How can you drive with any vigor like that?

Yes it came with the German cars... From what ive read there is a law there that does not allow tire tread to stick out past the fender... the trend started from people wanting the look of wider wheels with a low offset and a lip but had to run slightly skinnier tires for them to keep the tread under the fender. It spiraled out of control from there... Not sure how accurate the story is but thats what I heard

I thought the crazy offset stretched tires thing started with drifting, from wanting to lessen grip without sacrificing to a lower quality tire...

regardless

if you want to run aggressive wheels, do it right and get new fenders and over fenders.

I like the style, but not for a functional car like the s2000. Meaty tires ftw.
