Are aggressive offsets the "new rice"...
If I'm thinking correctly, it mostly became mainstream when drifting became popular. It actually works out GREAT for drifting. But forget holding onto the road. Its a 240 thing that civics thought was cool I guess.... if ur drifting ur s2k or showing it off... I guess it will work bc I think it can look pretty hawt. But for performance and my personal functionality, its not for me. I like more than looks.

I'd love to see a handling comparison between stretched setup and a "normal" setup.
They're made to look cool for magazine up close wheel shots, but I'm not sure about a daily driver.

I think the general consensus is that for an s2000, that actually has a purpose from the factory, is not a car that should have crazy offsets and super wide wheels. The flush/strectched look got big here with the drift scene, it was a 240 thing and in my opinion, RWD cars set up for drift look best with stretched/wide/crazy offset wheels. People get excited when they realize the s2000 is also RWD so they start looking for 18x10's, but sorry folks, this here is a real roadster, you cant start throwing parts on it cuz it looks cool, end of story.
I'm surprised to read that extended "roller skate" wheels are big in CA. Here in the middle of the US, this trend came along two or three years ago. I never saw such wheels on an S2K. and now I don't see them on anything as the fad died out. Now, quite the opposite, I am seeing just a few 22"+ wheels on cars like '82 Chevy Impalas, but that is just about it.
