Default Air Filter

New to the car - opened the big rectangular airbox expecting to see a rectangular air filter and instead am staring at a conical air filter.

Is the stock air box really that empty or am I looking at an aftermarket filter in my airbox?

Thanks.

The first "empty" chamber is a water catch. The little 3rd chamber is for sound tuning.
