I thought about doing it for members.....but it would just take too damn long.

I can install that for you for about $1500 + the cost of a shop to reupholster that section of the seat.

Wow, thats a pretty nice feature, but as a generalization, I would say most people I notice in SLK's do not drive with top down in cold weather, especially because they have that nice retractable hardtop, thats one the S is really missing, even the miatas now have the option of the retractable hardtop...
I'm confused at how the fact that an SLK (and now MX-5) having a retractable hard top has anything to do with an owner driving it with the top down in cold weather. People in SLKs seem to only drop the top if their hair won't get messed up (i.e., driving around town doing 25-35).

I believe the reason some of us drive the S with the top down in cold weather is because WE LOVE DRIVING THE CAR WITH THE TOP DOWN. Even if the car had a retractable hard top, I'd still drop the top any time water isn't falling from the sky (the only deterent I currently have is the plastic rear window...sometimes it's too cold to fold it and I don't have time to use the hair dryer to warm it up).

The retractable hard top has nothing to do with it IMO. I think those drivers rarely put the top down; regardless of how perfect or problematic the weather may be. The whole concept of the Airscarf seems cool, but pricey. I will just install some heaters in the seats and call it a day.

Mercedes always comes out with gadgets to lure customers, and I am one of them.

Yeah, that wouldn't look awkward when driving down the road...

I thought about doing this a few months ago. I would run some non-breathable material from the footwell vents, under the seats, around the back and through the AP1 seat's mesh helmet rest area. If that worked, then would it be hard to run the material under the console, through the back panels (where lucid speakers go)?

Course my feet would be cold... but I could go without sweaty feet.

I thought about this too, somehow incorporating something like this behind the seat, maybe attached to the roll hoop:

Never got around to it, though...

While we're at it, how about installing a popcorn popper in the tool well...
