you can pick up a used S/C for about $3200 or so.

But how about proper set-up? Don't you need extra parts on top of that? Installation? Tuning? Dyno? Maint. costs?

If i were to buy a used S/C, I would find someone local and take it to a shop and do a swap... so no chance of missing parts.
