I suppose the Florida law is somewhat ambiguous, in that if they're going to get this picky about enforcement they should define "white light" by temp or range in angstroms.

You may be missing the point of what we are saying just a bit (Said in a friendly tone). Federal DOT regulations trump Florida DMV rules or laws of the state of Florida for that matter. If the DOT approved the car for use on US roads, the state cannot require you to change the lights. Now, lets say that you added fixed spotlights on your roof that were blindingly bright. Then the Florida DMV rules kick in and you will have issues. But the Headlights are DMV approved. You win. Period. You may have to argue, you may even have to appeal. But you win. The Florida Rules (in this instance) are not relevant.

Sparky,
Why would Honda want to get involved in this mess or pay the fine? This issue has nothing to do w/ them, and their product is in 100% compliance w/ the regs. You can't expect them to be bail you out from every dumbass ignorant cop you run into!

Hey guys,
I got the ticket more than a month ago, and was pretty pissed at first.
Since then, I payed it.
The deal was that I can pay the $40-some dollar ticket or I can get Honda to replace the headlights with "legal" ones and only pay $8 ($5 ticket plus $3 for something).
I went to honda with this, and they laughed.
They all agreed that the cop pretty much was out to get me for something. They inspected the car(looked in its direction for about 2 seconds laughing at me!!) and wrote up a detailed 2 page report stating that the car was closely inspected and that all lights were within legal limits.
$8 ticket
It wasn't worth for me to drive 200 miles and kill a whole day to fight the ticket.
