'twas a bit confusing. Was that a reference to the amber headlights used in some European countries? That's been abolished now hasn't it?

I think Honda generalised a bit and just said 'all RHD have clear corners, autoleveling, light washers etc, and all LHD have amber corners, no leveling and no washers'. Once again there are probably exceptions

BTW, Aus corners are clear. They have a lense though, it's just clear rather than amber.

The corners in Europe are not clear but with a lens, so it's not completely clear. We also have autolevelling and light washers standard.

Ahh well, there goes my theory .

What that means is US owners could buy their lights from the Nederlands and all they would have correct left and right cut offs for LHD. You would still have to make backets to replace the auto leveling system though. I think MG supplies lights with these brackets already.

It doesn't mean that US owners could just buy their lights from The Netherlands because of state and country regulations.
For instance US headlights are illegal here because the American corners will go on when you turn on your headlights, while the European versions does not.

Ahh, you're confusing possible with legal .

And anyway, wouldn't the corners being on or not be dependant on the wiring and control circuitry rather than the light fitting?

You're absolutely right! Still every imported American car has to have approved headlights.
