Well since we're on the topic of the S02's blowin' goats in the cold...what kind of tires do you guys think or know are better for the S2K in cold weather? I've heard some go with the Blizzaks...Any thoughts??

I've adjusted my mirrors as far as they can go, and the blind spot on the drivers is still pretty bad. Turning my head to look behind me dosn't really help either, so I guess the only solution is to drop the top huh? Pretty soon in the bayarea, we can all drive with the top down all the time, every day

O.K., huyto, here's your punishment. Write on the blackboard one-hundred times:
"I will be more careful when entering and exiting freeway ramps, and all you forum members can kiss my skinny stook-spinning butt!"

Ok Huyto. I know you've really taken a beating on this one. In my opinion, rightfully so! Now, tell the ladies and gentlemen of the S2K court how many drinks you really had! I find it hard to believe that you made it past .06 after only one beer. Did you fail to mention that it was a 60 ouncer?

Who said .6 and .8 for BAC levels? Most people are dead of alcohol poisining at .5
This thread seems beatdown, but I did like the post about each person and situation poses different limits. Even the worlds best under calculate sometimes. Like the poster of the statement above said: the reason for this "incident" more then likely was driver not knowing the limits of the tires in this situation, not the tire themselves. I appreciate that our lucky friend shared this, as it might make others aware of limits they were yet unaware of.
And for the one taking potshots at the incident...why?

Next time heat up your rubber for 5 minutes before you turn it on
Think of it as foreplay!
Oh well, I guess it's hard to preach foreplay to a 20 year old.
I usually spend 3 minutes(1 minute idle, 2 minute low speed) heating up the engine and 5 minutes heating up the tires.

Wow! Thank you all for having such an interesting discussion. I think we need a FlameForum, cthree.
It's pretty amazing that we havwe combined the topics of: driver carelessness, tire performance in the cold, professional credibility, and even specific combat styles... pretty cool stuff for a CAR club!
Huyto, glad you and the StooK are OK. By the way, how does anyone go out to a club for 2.5 hours and only have one beer..? I do not know anyone who is Off The Wagon that can do this. Quite a feat.
