exactly. it's about freedom. this is the way I WANT it. THAT's the big deal. It annoys me - THAT's the big deal.

Why don't people understand that somethings that don't bother them will bother other people? I have tattoos on my body. Doesn't bother me. Boy, it sure bothers other people though..... but I don't FORCE them to get tattoos

PS - you have to do this trick again if you reset the ECU!!! - because i needed to defrost the OUTSIDE of my windshield and didn't want it on..... damn.

Fookin' eh! This has eliminated one of the only complaints I've had about my car!

Thanks ntphan.

I don't even have the battery in my car, most likely a good thing, otherwise I would run out to the garage and give it a try. I can't believe the solution could be so "simple".
ntphan you are my hero!
I made this mod within about two minutes after the battery went back in and it works perfect. If I knew where ntphan lived, I would have shipped him a cold beer, or two...
Thanks all....

This rocks! I agree with everyone who says we should be allowed the choice. I get really annoyed with the A/C (being used for its primary purpose - to cool me off when it's hot) as it is, taking off in 1st with the a/c on is an exercise in DOGGING ... I can't imagine having to have it on at the track. Cool hidden feature!

wow....I have had my car for about 2 months now. And this was the FIRST thing I did when I got my car. I just thought everyone knew about it and didnt want to look stupid saying it. he he.....A friend of mine with an RSX did it for me....

And just so everyone knows....this works for all HONDA CARS!!! (that includes acura)

Sorry no one asked me sooner.

Hmm..read everyone going through the trouble of re-wiring? Don't know if this is the problem you are having, but there seems to be a simple trick in turning off the A/C when u don't want it for the defrost. Check this thread out! Hope this helps everyone else...though I have yet to use my defrost...

Ha! That's too funny. I actually did the process you listed in the link above, christy, NOT the rewiring thing. Just came back to the wrong thread to post my success. Too funny!
