Rich, I've had two very similar noises that the Shin-Etsu did not fixed.
Two separate things, first was a rattle that someone on this board identified (I think Pinky) and the second from the latch not being tight enough (can't figure out how to adjust.
Fix for the first noise was to stop the plastic cover under the lever from rattling. I used some foam tape in the side gaps.
The temp fix I've used on the second issue was to stick the corner of a business card under the hook and clamping it in there. If the hook were threaded or something I'd of just screwed it in one turn, but it's not.
Can anyone figure out how to tighten this joint?

Hey, I'm a hater of noise here too. I am in fact in the middle of dynamating the whole damm car. But anyway, after removing the latches (2 phillips screws) take it apart and use a little grease, after a thourough cleaning to make the latches rattle less. Then use foam or tape (I used a piece of dynamat) to cover the inner side of the black plastic piece. Finally, go buy some tubing from your local home depot. I think roughly 2 cm in diameter and made out of soft rubber. The kind I have is black (if that helps). The clear tubing is a little too unflexible and hardens in the sun. So avoid it. Cut off an inch or so place over latch hook. Voila . Much tighter non noise making modfor.87 cents.
Hope that helps!

any suggestions?
Clip the passenger seatbelt buckle into the latch thingy. ie. do up the passenger belt. The rattle could be the buckle on the door panel. Mine is and I do it up and that fixes it.

The only noise I have comes from the "REAR VIEW MIRROR"!! It vibrates every now and then. You just have to re-adjust it to correct the situation.

Just to add yet another source of noise, I had an irritating vibration coming from the passenger side sun visor. I moved it down a little bit and that fixed it.

vis, sweet idea!

Did a slight variation, hope you don't mind , put some 1/4" heat shrink tubing on the hooks and shrunk it. If you didn't know better, it looks like it might be stock.
Hope it lasts, time will tell.
