Default Annoying rattle from the convertible top

Hi guys,
I have 2002 Spa Yellow. She is great

However, I hear this annoying rattle from the convertible top.
I know this because I hear this only when the top is UP.
The noise is coming from the top.
After searching the forum I thought it was the passenger seat belt or the seat but it's not. The noise is definately coming from
the top! arggg..
( I don't hear the rattle when the roof is down, or I can't hear
it because of the wind noise???)

Most of the times, I have the music turned up full blast so the noise doesn't bother me but still.. it's annoying the heck
out of me!!

I don't want to go to the dealer for this tedious problem.
Any suggestion guys?
Anyone with 2002 model experience the same problem?
Thanks

Well, it really shouldn't be your top latches on a 2002 - Honda should have that beat by now. I know - it must be that pesky glass window, quick - swop with me

Seriously though, have you checked that all the fasteners on the framework are tight? I guess it is going to be a learning curve figuring out any teething problems on the 2002 models...

Just take it to a dealer. They like doing warranty work and you'll built a relationship for when you have to pay the tab. It doesn't matter to the dealer who pays the bill. You take it to them, they make money, you get your car fixed.

My dealer service dept is on a first name basis with we. I take it there for every little annoyance. They know the car and me and I hope that will pay off when I need to negotiate something big like the clutch or diff. I go elsewhere or DIYS for oil, brake and tire work.

I have a 2001 that rattles when the tops up. I'm nearly positive it's the latches. They seem to have loosened up since I got it. I quess I should bring it in a get it adjusted under warranty.

I was hearing a "clicking" sound from my top, along with a rattle, early on ~12/99.

My Honda dealer fixed it for me on the lot in about 10 minutes.

The seals were dry, and they applied silicone grease.

Also, there are two thumbscrews just above the rear of the side windows. They removed them, sprayed them with WD-40 and then replaced them.

No more rattles or clicks until about a month ago. I am going to take care of that this weekend.

HTH.

I have the same problem but I can't find it. It means I have to drive with the top down!
