I just installed the Supertone horn set, and they are loud. I tested them in the garage, and my ears are still ringing. I think they are louder than the air horns, but a higher pitch. Hopefully at Wanabe's there will be air horns to compare to.

I ended up mounting them on a brace behind the right fake air duct. I considered making a bracket to mount in front of the radiator (someone posted pics a week or so back), but I thought that it would block some airflow (and I was too lazy to make a bracket). So I took the easy route. The install took about 2.5 hrs (at least 45 minutes was used up in deciding where to mount the horn) including wiring. I removed the stock horn relay and routed some wires from the socket to another relay and ran heavier wire to the horns. I used a Hella relay (not included in the kit) that has a built-in fuze holder, and mounted it on the bracket near the fuze box.

S2WOOOW,

Cool, we can check them out at the meet coming up tomorrow. Wonder if your horns are louder than Mingsters??

I'm thinking about replacing the crappy stock horn. Would love to get your thoughts on the install and also know if you took off the bumper or not.

I heard Mingsters when he came up to Neuspeed, sounded nice. I think I like his tone better, but note sure if it's as loud as the Supertones. He has his angled down to keep bugs and water out of the horns. The neighbors will love a horn contest. I took the bumper off. You may be able to install it in the same place as I did if you remove the fender lining, but may be more of a pain. Removing the bumper is an easy 5 minute job.
