Default Another victim of the torn top

Add my 2005 to the list of cars with tears in the top. Mine formed right where I see everyone else's -- the upper most "corner" where one of the metal bars is pressing.

What's my recourse? I know a lot of people have gotten Honda to replace it under warranty since it's a bad design. How do I approach the dealer about that? I haven't really had any dealings with the service dept since I've only had the car since October.

And if they refuse to replace the top, do I just find another dealer? Or is a repair job going to look like shit? (the tear is about 1/4 inch long)

if you're under warranty, they will fix and diagnose the problem.

^same here. if it's still under warranty, just bring it in and they should replace it.

Great. I just remember reading that some dealers didn't want anything to do with it and tried to blame the owner, even under warranty.

The 2006+ tops were re-designed internally, right? I need to make sure they use that one?

I don't think any of the tops were redesigned to fix this issue.

Maybe I am mistaken...I thought the 2006 or 2007 tops had a modification made. Hmm, oh well.

I remember reading about people with '06+ S2000s developing wear, too.
