Anybody drive in the rain with the top down?

Just happened to me earlier tonight, it was nice cool summer night...
So i will driving on the highway across town... then I started to notice the ground was wet halfway, and seconds later it started to rain a little and actually the speed is keeping the rain out!
a minute later it started to down pour
and could hardly see, so I found the closest highway exit... while slowing down I had 1 click on the handbrake(kinda dangerous when its wet 
) and closed the top 
(since I had the speed sensing wire cut for the top switch
)
