Default Anyone with 18x8 18x9?

I'd like to know how the car's stability and handling changed with this upgrade from a stock wheel. Also, any effect on steering feel or ride quality?
Pictures always a plus.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think there will be that many positives when you get into the 18+ sizes

I'm going to be using these wheels on and off the track. That's why I'm hoping for the larger size. The width is actually more important to me than the diameter, but I figured why not increase both.

I have 18x8 and 18x9.5 and although I can honestly say that I don't think handing improved I can also say that I didn't notice anything negative either. I drive the hell out of it too...

Hey WebGod! I've admired your car since I joined this board. You have done some great looking things to your car. Honestly, you didn't see a grip improvement from all that extra rubber on the pavement?

You probably find that a lot of 18" people here wont reply this question. I really don't have a reason for that.

I posted the same questions ealier, before my wheels, and gained minimal hits

I bit the bullet and went a head with this set of rims

I found that the best traction for my set of tyres are around 35-37psi, which is fairly comfortable.

Pro
More choice of tyres
Looks better
More traction if you align the car properly and use good tyres
The car feels more on track

Cons
May be a tad firmer feel, again this depends on the tyres and pressure used
May be a slight tad slower on acceleration

If you like to get a good alignment specification let me know. Been there done that

Recommendation
Anything with
Light weight
3 piece forge wheels
correct offset
It might be more expensive than other rims but it will save you a lot of regret later on
Good luck

I have 18x8 and 18x9 SSR GT1's. The steering response is improved, it also gives the steering a little extra "weighted feel". And as far as traction goes, I've lost a little, but only from my selection of tire. A good mod in my book. As long as the wheel is lightweight, I really dont see any downsides.
