Anyone else dislike the start button?
But seriously, the guy does have a point, yall kinda did just jump down his throat over a question. Im sure he knows now it was pointless to even start this thread.
That's because not everyone respects the fact that people can have opinions or honest questions - they just assume the person asking is an idiot and should have spent hours researching instead of asking something to a community that is supposed to be supportive of fellow owners and enthusiasts.
People are entitled to their opinion, and that's exactly what op did in a loyal manner. After all, this is a "S2000 TALK" section, its to discuss anything s2000 related.. the overwhelmed population of butthurt bandwagoners that cant accept anything that mismatches with their opinion and belief makes me laugh

Few of these kids know anything about where the car comes from or why it was built the way it was.
Every time I push that start button I get a 'man that's cool' feeling. Never in the life of me have I thought it was 'too much work'. Shit we own a killer Honda 2 seater drop top roadster. There isn't much really wrong in life when you are where we are. But yeah, the push button....

I still get a lot of satisfaction pressing that "Start" button! There has been a flood of kids buying these cars and posting up silliness relating to them. For me at least, that is the main point.

Much as you may not believe it, this thread, much maligned by some forum vets like yourself, has already served two purposes for me - 1. it's enriched my knowledge of the S2000 by informing me (and doubtless others) that there truly is a purpose to the start button, limited though it may be in application; and 2. it's delineated for me which forum members can enjoy a light discourse in which not all parties agree, and which members have absolutely no interest in hearing dissenting opinions.
I'm real happy that you and so many others enjoy the start button for what it is. That's great. I'm not so ignorant to think that I wouldn't be in the minority by posting this thread. But the kind of ridiculous overreaction to mildly negative words I've experienced from some members here has been off-putting.
You'll quickly come to realize that posting anything that might even be remotely construed as negative toward the S2000 is met with extreme, irrational hostility from the people on this forum who act precisely like those they purport to loathe: children.
