Anyone else dislike the start button?
How many people don't like it when some one asks a question like this? Can we just get rid if them and get another?
I always think... WTF? Seriously?
Mommy I don't like my chocolate milk in the carton. Then you know what? Take your little whiny self down to the cow factory and have them put in your little nasty ass hands.
Just don't start the damn car then.
Yeah I'm irked that he's irked about a damn starter button.

"The start button seems silly and mostly for appearance, why not just eliminate it and make it a turn-key start?"
"You're an idiot/whiny/immature child/*other denigration*. Don't start the car; sell it. Go away and never come back to my website"
Nice. I'm sure the irony of you posting exclusively to whine about all the "whiny little children" isn't lost on you either.
I love the gauges in the radio door. I want.
If I remember my time in an S2000 in Japan the start button was on the right hand side, a true mirror image of the left hand drive model.
you are correct http://www.stanleyku.com/thekucars/2...sm-white-s2-3/

The original design S2000 is right hand drive. The start button is close to the shifter. If you spun on a track and/or stalled, you would reach with your left hand, restart the car, reach back to the shifter, and go. Fumbling for a flimsy key to turn while adrenaline is pumping and your wearing a set of fire proof gloves isn't easy. This is why all true race cars do not have keys. Honda had to include a key cyclinder because the cars would be used on the street. The key cyclinder prevents theft. It locks the column, stops unauthorized persons from activating the ignition, and enables the use of the immobizer system. The lack of a new style push start system makes the car more reliable for track use.

The start button is really only odd since in the US they're on opposite sides of the key. So while the RHD models operate the engine start with one hand, it takes 2 for the US LHD version.
Still awesome though.

I am amazed that in every thread five different people give the same exact answer. In this case the same wrong answer.

LHD = key and shifter on the same side opposite the start button
RHD = key and start button on the same side opposite the shifter
I actually prefer the LHD configuration, I can turn the key and hit the button at the same time.
You sound pretty sure about that, Not Sure.
Of course, you're right, as the button needs to be on the opposite side of the shifter, regardless of which side has the steering wheel (and why make that differently for each market?). The reason for this has been given several times, and this car was conceived with the track in mind. One of the things I love about this car is how seriously it takes that potential usage. So, the car asks its owner to put up with a few things that would be unacceptable in an Accord. It's funny how many various complaints exist about this car that evaporate when the reason for the feature that triggered the complaint is exposed. Celebrate the fact that this is a very 'purpose built' car (and that purpose is very different from the Accord's).
I rather like pushing that start button. It ought to be labeled 'start having fun' (or something to that effect).
