Haha no it's just the loud exhausts are usually more of a thing teenagers have I guess. Still love the car and not ditching my exhaust and mods for anyone though.
No No, I get what you're saying. It's not an issue of HER persay, but an issue of being self-conscious of the noise level of the car; among other things such as: Ride height, ride quality, other noises and appearance (if applicable).

All I can say is that, modified cars to the extent of being loud and bumpy will really only appeal to the few girls out there that actually have experience or know-how about them. Girls like that are far and few between and the rest of the population really won't understand why it's that low or that loud because they don't place equal value on our hobbies. For example: I don't get why girls shop for hours at a time.

I would say most people, male or female see cars as a form of A to B transportation, or at best, a status symbol and not a direct extension of their passion.

When I'm by myself, I blast the stereo, drive fast and hard. Yet, when others come into the car, I have to tone it down several notches to accommodate for them. If anything, you're just a considerate guy and you're very in tune with what other people may be thinking about you or your car.

If it bothers you, make the car quiet and acceptable by the guidelines of normal people. Or buy something that will impress the masses. Either way, the important thing is to satisfy your own automotive needs before going out of your way for "dates"

thanks for the link, just epic.

I don't feel embarrassed for driving the S. People rag on me for it being impractical, but we have zipcars for that.

I like modified cars and "racer" cars... for racing.

We have a few dedicated track cars that live in the trailer or stored in between races.

When I go to the grocery store, I don't need a fart cannon exhaust.

Remember that Top Gear interview with Lewis Hamilton (Formula One driver)....

(paraphrasing)
Jeremy Clarkson: "what do you drive around town?"
Lewis Hamilton: "a Cadillac Escalade."
Clarkson: "?????"
Hamilton: "when you're puttering around town, you just want to relax."

There's a guy who knows about lowered, loud and stiff cars. But chooses to leave that on the track. I appreciate "race cars" but I don't want to drive them on the street.

that's exactly why i would never put on anything too crazy on my S, and one of the big reasons why i chose a S over something like a rsx or civic si. i think a stock S is nothing to get embarrased about; in fact, it's quite beautiful.

but once you throw on black "powdercoated" oem wheels, slammed like it's a civic, ebay exhaust, with blue/purple HIDs, then yes that'd be pretty embarrasing.

I agree with you here.

I'm simply saying, modded cars aren't appreciated by everyone.

But my S is a daily driver, so it's stock ish No fart cannon for me either.
