Anyone else ever get embarrassed with your S?

This is why I kept my car stock. If it's a street car I don't see why anyone would want an exhaust system that makes the car unpleasant to drive.

I'd relatively sacrifice pleasantness for performance any day. T1R 70RT in the future

my koni shocks help even my lowered car ride smooth, also to note, the roads are not that bad where i live. my exhaust is known heavily as one of the more quiet systems for our cars..so i like it. my cabin noise is pretty quiet too, even if i step on the gas

Haha idk maybe just me. Sometimes I am kind of embarrassed especially when picking a date up or something. Car is super loud(only HKS but to others is super loud). Was on a date recently and the girl kept saying why is it so loud, so low hard to get into, and telling stories how other "racer" guys would try and race her on the highway and stuff lol and asking if I made it so loud or that's how it came haha.
Just kind of feel funny in it sometimes.
Don't get me wrong I love the car and all just felt a little embarrassed.
I went through that phase with my old integra, and is a key reason why I love quiet cars now. For a daily driver/everyday car, there's no way I can stand a loud car. The stiff suspension/cramped space is bad enough in the s2k, but to not be able to hear my decent stereo would make it undriveable as a daily driver for me.

To each his own of course, but I guess getting older certainly changes your priorities around. There's no question the loud exhaust comes with the "racer" stigma, and there's nothing really wrong with it, but there of course is that stigma. The relatively small power gains (unless you're running a lot of boost) that you get with an exhaust are just no longer worth it to me.

Feels kinda weird/uneasy when friends say they can't keep up with my car when we're going somewhere. I never drive recklessly on public roads. Also, girls tend to hate it cause they find it very hard getting off the car.

I usually "help" my gf out of the car by putting my hand firmly on her butt and pushing...she thanks me for it later

A: because thats how i like my girls?

Pretty regularly, to the extent of considering picking up something different. I love everything about the car, but could definitely do without some of the negative attention. About a month ago I accelerated away from an intersection (in a perfectly normal and responsible manner) only to have an old Lexus SC fly up behind me, pass me on the right, then loose control and slide backwards through my lane, over the median, and in to the oncoming lanes. Several lifted trucks have taken up blowing their train horns at me as well. Not a fan.

Nope. That's why I've only opted for an intake. It's loud at WOT and basically stock otherwise so I can pick and choose when I want noise.
