Anyone else ever get embarrassed with your S?
my first car was the exhaust and crazy stuff... but after a while you start to realise that having a lowered car is nice for looks as long as it doesn't shake you apart, nice comfy seats that dont have 1mm of foam and a cover for lightness. Little touches still make a car sporty to drive yet comfortable... wasn't it DK that said todays DD's aren't DD's they are just stripped out... a true car is ability to drive home from work comfortably but when you hit a back road it comes to life..?!
but on the other hand... making my car a J's widebody replica would give me a gigantic hard on... guess i'm a hypocrite

i kept mine basically stock for this very reason.
i would love the way the S sounds with exhaust and intake for track use but not for everday driving.
i mostly have only cosmetic mods, engine dress up stuff, oem front lip and ice with a drop in k&n. i want to keep my S more elegant vs all out race.
i bought it more for cruising. i have my bikes for racing and thats where alot of my time and money goes anyways.

I leave my stock exhaust(w/ test pipe) for daily driving. My custom single exhaust goes on before I go out to the track. I usually leave it on for a week or so just because of laziness. It draws WAY to much attention.
I have chosen to keep the stock suspension on my S2000 after owning a lowered Honda Prelude for 7 years. It sucks having to watch out for every little rough spot in the road to prevent bottoming out your shocks or slamming a tire through your fender, sucks having to take speed bumps at an angle at 0.2mph to keep from scraping and sucks having to avoid certain parking lot entrances because they are too steep and angle for your lowered car. Lowering a car too much results in a decrease in handling, terrible ride quality and makes it much less fun to drive...what is the point? When I see a car with wheels tucked in the fenders I don't think "Oh what a sweet ass slammed ride!" NO. I think "What tools, they can't even push that car without scraping their fenders on a corner!"
Ehh.. I'm odd in that I enjoy the attention if people look at me for having a loud exhaust, as long as I didn't rice it out with a whale tail or something like that. I would say it's loud because you lose power by constricting airflow when it's really quiet like Lexus, and so you get a few more ponies out of that noise. It's low because with a lower center of gravity -- you have better handling. That's what I would've told the girl, and she can take it any way she wants. Tell her it's a sports car. Sports cars are low and loud. When have you seen an escalade-high lexus quiet F1 car?
Theres plenty of ways to mod your car w/o lookin like a jackass. If you have a dd other than the S then mod away. But if its your only car and you have cf galore, herra frush wheels, -4 camber and a LOUD exhaust then you look stupid. It may look nice online but its dumb as a dd.
Its like wearing gold chains, and adiddas track suit and a kangol hat to court.

Guess it's just me getting older.. Love my S and as I have said won't be getting rid of it ever or for a loong time. Guess it would just be nice to have a nice quiet refined car for a daily driver.
