Just broke 100k this morning! My baby now has 100,009 miles! Not to mention last night I had a run in with a Ford Lightning and kept up with him pretty well, not sure... but I might have caught up with him. I must say, I dont think MY01 has lost a lick of power... wonder if its gained more!

PS:I support the 100k badge!!

Over 3 years ago the topic of how long an S2000's motor would last came up. Some thought that due to it's high revving nature you couldn't expect 200k life expectancy you may get out of a Civic or Accord. But I reasoned that Honda overbuilt this motor in the first place not wanting to compromise their reputation as an auto manufacturer whos engines last an incredibly long time. That plus the fact that 99.99% of the engines life it probably isn't in V-tec land anyhow. Even if you wind it out to 9k on every shift precious few owners will spend 5% of their time in the 6-9k range. That being said plus the fastidious maintainance regime that some owners follow I wouldn't be surprised to see S2000 motors holding up well past 200k.

That's an interesting point. In Racecar Engineering recently, they were comparing the Lotus Elise's original K series Rover motor to the F20C, and they complained about the Honda powerplant being too heavy and overengineered. yin and yang I guess.

edit to include link about Rover K:

I was gassing up behind a '68 Mustang. Original owner, said he had 850k miles on it and was going for a million. I don't think it was the original engine because he was pumping unleaded.
