Keep in mind though that although the S2000 is capable of 100k miles easily and reliably, time has an effect. I know it's gonna be an awful lot to ask my 06 S2000 to go 100k miles trouble free when I'm only driving it about 5-6k miles per year. Time will catch up slowly, as age has just as much an effect on a car as miles. When you drive any car daily and often, it can be veryreliable and long lasting if properly treated and maintained. When you don't drive a lot, I found in my experience that you are more vulnerable to problems before 100k miles.
For those who put 15-20k miles a year or more on their S2000, You shouldn't have any major issues. A constantly running car for the most part is a reliable car.
I couldn't agree more. I know a guy with a 91 NSX with only 17k on it. And most of those miles were put on in its first couple years before he bought it. Its been sitting in his garage the better part of 12 years and almost NEVER comes out. I'd be more confident with a vehicle that was driven 100 miles a week if I was planning on one that would last a long time. He also has a MY00 S2000 with 6k on it. He doesn't drive that either. His daily driver is a 93 MR2. Its his business how much he drives his cars but to have a pair of cars like that and rarely drive either of them puzzles me.

Both cars and aircraft have fewer problems when they are driven/flown on a regular basis. Cars also wear faster if they're driven mostly on short trips. There's a big difference between 100,000 highway miles and 100,000 miles in gridlock.
