I've hit 100k last week in my Jan 02 Car. I bought it in Oct 02 with 8,300 on the clock

BTW, I plan on keeping mine for a looooong time. I'll have to start resting it soon though and turn it into a weekend car. I just can't see driving anything else without being depressed because it won't be my S. *sigh*

For you 100k guys how many times have you changed your clutch? If ever and what other major expenses have you had?
Brakes (Rotors and Pads) - 75k and still alot left, but I decided I wanted slotted rotors
Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.
I have almost 81,000 on my '00 with clutch replaced for the TSB and an O2 sensor last spring. Still have original battery and amazingly brakes. My daughter wants the car. Other than fluids and filters (changed per schedule)-I cannot locate info for recommended replacement of fan belt and timing belt.
I would like her to have the car as trouble free as possible-as she will be out of state from me. Anyone have info on this? Also what gives with the brake life-still a lot of pad left.

Billy,
We have a timing chain.....not a belt. So unless you are in there doing a rebuild, the general consensus is to leave it alone. Some people think a chain stretches and fatigues, but I am not one of those people.
The serpentine belt should be inspected at each oil change for cracks or fraying, and be replaced accordingly. Just to give an example......mine is original with 106k on it.
Finally, the brakes. Depending on driving style and if it gets tracked or auto-x'd, brake pad life varies quite a bit. One thing to check for is that they get brittle after overheating. You'll be able to see chunks beaking off the edges, and sometimes they crack down the center. Since it is an easy job to do, you may wanna pull the pads and inspect more closely.
Keep up on the maintenance and it'll last a looooong time.
Hockey
