anyone ever replaced/swapped their carpet?
I am really digging this color combination. Unfortunately, I KNOW that carpet would be ruined within a few weeks/months. I am not down with shampooing the carpet every two weeks to keep it looking clean.
Obviously, replacing the floormats with black ones is an easy task, but how about going from tan to black carpet?
Any 02 Red interior guys ever tried this? Thoughts?
I just had a carpet swap down the other weekend (from red to black). It's quite a bit of labor, and the carpet isn't cheap (list is $240 each for the driver and passenger foot-wells and $175 for the center console). But the finished product of red seats and door inserts with the black carpet and one of Rick's black console covers is stunning. In fact, I think Rick was the first person to do this mod like two years ago.
If you end up going for it, Ganley Honda in Cleveland, Ohio ordered the carpet for me for $434 and installed it for another $100. If you wanted it shipped instead, it would be around $25 (I had my old carpet shipped to a buyer in Texas from Ohio).
Hope this helps. I LOVE the new tan interior, and I think the carpet looks good as is. But I understand that it wouldn't wear nearly as well as the black. I wonder if just black floor-mats in the tan carpet would go over well aesthetically? I liked the look of my old red mats against the black, but ended up going with all black for the final product - cleaner.
Regards,
