Anyone had enough and would rather drive a Civic?

Perhaps I didn't clarify but of course there is no comparision between the S and a civic although the new ones are quite nice.

I think the perfect combo would be to have a Civic also for the daily stuck in traffic type driving and that is probably why I'll get a used one for a beater.

Personally, I think I obsess over the S too much, put a lot into it and so worry about every little thing that happens to it. Modding only creates more chances for things to go wrong and just hassles to tweak and get it to where it was or where you like it to be.

My S2000 is a DD, I do not worry about it too much, haven't washed it it months, no mods on it yet and the one mod that is going to happen is 4.57 "as relyable as OEM but probably better with the Comptech diff" gears, the car drives very nice, no hassle, it uses about the same amount of fueal as the car I had before (little less to be honest ), no problem with ppl want to yap and/or punks wanting to race and/or ppl telling me its nice, trading in cars costs money (thats how dealerships/stealerships live), so... whats your point?

i kept my crx. i switch between the two. certainly saves on gas. i could run 86 octane if i could find it and it gets consistently 30mpg. insurance difference is a wash since its not covered with comprehensive/collision, just liability. i can do all maintenence and troubleshooting myself. ive got all sorts of parts, engines and transmissions in my garage waiting to replace anything that goes bad.

it literally would cost me more to sell the crx and just drive the s2000.

I have a turbo Si that opposite your whole list. Funny how my S is the economical one
hahahah same here. well mine's not an si but it's a built turbo gsr-t. i daily drive the S and leave it stock. i feel more comfortable "hacking" up a civic than an s2k.

I had a civic for a daily driver until it got flooded about a month ago. I picked up a used '93 Sentra SE-R with some tasteful, but very useful mods that has made driving fun all the time. It's not an S2000, but it's a wonderful car with good power and it's really nice having a sedan to drive when the S2000 isn't the right tool for the job. I still love getting behind the wheel of the S2000 though. Nothing like putting the top down and hitting 9000 RPM.

Nope!
However having both is great . You have the fun daily driver that gets 38 mpg not to mention the laughs you get when that Suburban is still filling up when you are already filled up and leaving and then at the red light you look over and he is still filling that Big gas hog.! Next when u get home and look over in the garage and see the S setting there waiting and knowing the weekend is coming up and the Vtec monster is waiting for some fun in the sun and all you have to do is hit that little red button.
Then when the weekend does come and you pull the S out of the garage and you hear it at idle and you know that you are not in Civicland anymore and then you have the real appreciation as to what Honda has created . Each with its own purpose. Civic = Maximum Fuel Savings while fun to drive ; S= Maximum Smiles per gallon+ Maximum VTEC FUN.

mine cars are such the opposite
civic = built + boosted + 9000 rpm vtec fun
s2k = stock + reliable + 9000 rpm vtec fun

oddly the civic doesn't get much worse mileage than the S

I have a 1998 Honda civic DX with no air con. Man its fffing hot during the summer. The only time I can stand to drive it is when its real cold outside. I will drive it tommorow to Baltimore because I think its going to rain real hard and my tires are needing to be replaced. I also have a sportbike. Man I wish I had an Acura TL sometimes. Just one vehicle to worry about. Luxurious and roomy. sigh
