I hope it is coming. Buying a car is not an investment. Nobody is going to make their money back. Why would you want Honda to stop manufacturing such fantastic cars?

Maybe Honda should stick with the Civic and abandon all other models... Maybe Porsche should stop making the 911....

If they keep making it, maybe they'll have a Honda S2004 in a few years - even better (is that possible??). Then we can all get new cars.

Most probably September build, and November ship, could be earlier, but no word yet. I'll let you all know. The first bit of information the dealership gets for confirmation is the color chart, I'll post it as soon as it arrives.

I look forward to all the greedy SOB dealers who have to eat their shorts when/if an actual 2002 model comes out, contrary to their warnings of "Buy now at this ridiculous price or be left out!"

stop making since i think this great machine is collectible.

I hope it's still in my garage after 30 years, imagine it's not for driving but for collection only.....
"remember the days we rev to 9,000 rpm just like those ferrari and world record of hp/L ......"

what a great collectible toy~

Sometimes I find all these people who hopes for a two year production run (because that'd make it a collectible, that would make the price go up etc etc) to be sooo immature.
Just my two cents.

I went to my dealer for my rust problem, they again said that production ends this year. He even went on to say that Honda (the company, obviously not the dealers) is losing money on each S2000. Not as much as the $5000 they lose on each Insight, but a loss nonetheless. (they used to lose $10,000/insight until they increased production numbers and brought costs down)

Some of you may say that of course the dealer is gonna say this. But I already have my StooK, no need to lie to me. Then again, maybe the dealers are truly in the dark too.

I also got the story on the radio. Apparently the only reason the '01 has a clock is because of the customer surveys from the '00 sales- in the US only. I was told that the Japanese models still have no clock. Makes sense, since the door is closed 99% of the time anyways.

So, osugrad97- better try to get an order in for an '01 soon! (I too am a Buckeye, '91 & '95)
