Anyone see this wreck yet?
How does a law preventing teenagers from driving sportscars prevent them from buying something which isn't a sports car and making it into one? Know what I mean?
When I was younger I had a Monza (ugly piece of crap) in which we replaced the engine with an 8 cylinder 350 chevy shortblock with a big hauly carbeurator. The engine put out no less than 300hp and I'm pretty sure the car weighed less than an S2000. We had to replace the clutch too, but it didn't last long anyway.
The point is, all you would be doing is saying that a teenager can't drive something that LOOKS like a sportscar unless you want to set asside funds to randomly stop teenagers and Dyno their engines. If you just don't want kids driving NSX's, well I don't think there is a huge problem of teenagers wrecking 80,000$ NSX's. Its just not a #1 killer of kids and its a rare day when you see it in the paper as above. Usually the wrecks occur in a Ford Taurus or some beat up piece of crap from the dark ages that wouldn't be helped by your sports car law.
So I think it matters not what car they wreck and passing a law banning teens from driving sports cars is going to protect a bunch of rich kids from themselves
I think Ohio offers a teen driving school- thats probably a better investment of money than new laws.
