I think I'm gonna go get an Absorber, since all these people are raving about it.

I have two and agree that you should always wash it, no soap, after every use. It's soft enough to use on the rear plastic window without fear of scratching.

Certainly each to his/her own. The California Water Blade removes 99.9% of the water from my car. I wash the blade after I use it and before. The blade is made out of surgical silicone, and won't scratch. Chamois removes wax, it you want to use it, again a matter of choice. If you haven't heard this before, now you have.

As to the Absorber, I don't see any advantage in blotting up the water over sweeping it off the car. It seems to me that sooner or later you're going to drop the thing, or otherwise contaminate it with small abrasive particles.

My S2K is black, which as we all know is the S2K's best color (tone) yet the hardest to maintain. I've hand compounded (3M clear coat safe) polished, swirl removed, glazed and waxed it 3 times since April. Every week end, I wash it, blade it, and Showcar spray polish it. It shines. It gleams. It's beautiful. It slips through the air. No scratches.

To heck with that, I'm gonna go buy STOCK in Absorber. I use the Blade for about 90% of the car, synth chamois on the rest, but think that I will try this Absorber thingie.

Ok, I was sold and went to my local Kragen Auto Parts store and got one for $9.95

I was anticipating as much when I read the descriptions, it turns out it's the same stuff that I used when I was springboard diving about seven years ago. If you've ever watched swimming or diving events, the swimmers and divers always have these little towels that they immediately start using to dry off. They just use smaller ones.

I use the Absorber as well...I'm scared to touch the rear window with it though - safe or not?

Oh ya, I would get this to dry off the car...I don't see the wax coming off...but I do wax every couple weeks, so I might not be the best person to ask.

BTW What's the best way to *clean* the rear window...not polish off scrathes...clean..as in some dirt or water marks are on it...?

I don't think the Absorber would strip wax from the finish like Chamois.
