Ok, so I'm looking into getting my first S and was wondering which chassis to go with. The AP1 or AP2. Is there really much of a difference in between the two? All I can spot is the difference in wheel size and headlight style. Which, in your opinion, is the better option?
The first thing I'd suggest is that you totally ignore anyone who says that any particular version of the car is "better." The truth of the matter is that the best choice depends entirely on what you want and what you plan to do with the car. The question would also be easier to answer if you were comparing something like a Hummer to an S2000 and planning to go off roading, but you're asking about two versions of the same car.

The best way anyone can answer your question is by asking you some questions that will (hopefully) help you make up your mind. The most important question is, "How much do you plan on spending?" If money isn't a deciding factor, then the next question is, "Why would you NOT buy the newest car you can afford?" If you don't have some very good answers to that last question, then your question has been answered.

Here is the deal. My Dad told me that if I manage to keep a 3.8 GPA until I get my liscense.(January of my Junior year.) He will purchase me a new S or the one of my choice. But once I get the car(if I do), I must maintain a 3.8 from the time I get the car until I graduate. I hope you guys udnerstand what I am trying to say. And please do not call me spoiled or anything. Trust me, I ahve lived a well disciplined life. So basically the expense of the car is covered. So it doesn't matter that the AP2 is more expensive or anything since my Dad is going to pay for it. I'm not sure how much I can put into this car being that it will be my first. I ahve never experienced modifying so I'm not sure if working 3 days a week can really supply myself with the parts I want. Like I said, I want my S to be a daily driver with some track use I just was wodering what chassis will fit my needs. I hope I'm making some sense...

Sorry for being blunt, but I can't see how you're NOT spoiled if your dad buys you a new s2000 in high school.

Enjoy it but don't abuse it. Lucky kids.

You're right, but based on the fact that I'm a junior in high school as well, I have plenty right to make assumptions. Besides, your only reason was
Trust me, I ahve lived a well disciplined life.
Although it's nothing to brag about, but unlike you, I've had my license for almost 2 years already. I can tell you this, even though I consider myself to be a great driver, I would NOT have been able to restrain myself from doing stupid things if I had a fast car as a first car.

I'm not trying to start anything, and I'm not saying you will definitely hit a tree if you buy a s2000 as your first car, but if you do think you deserve the car at least learn the basic facts first.

No I do not, but I'd expect some basic basic knowledge from someone with the name iheartS2K claiming that he is not spoiled, yet is having his dad buy him a brand new s2000 as a first car in high school.

One of two things happen when you buy a sports car in high school.
1. You crash it
2. You drive it like a civic and just use it for status

And trust me, I've seen plenty of number 2.

It'd be retarded of my to post any more off topic posts, but just remember to not take such a present for granted and be safe.

Haha. Wow, dude you are one funny guy. You say you don't want to start anything and then BAM you get me really pissed. You say I don't have basic knowledge of an S2000? You don't even know me dude. And your are making assumptions like that? I actually know a lot about the S2000 and was just wondering if I ahd overlooked anything between the two different chassis models. Apparently they can fit two different but somewhat similar driving styles. And if you did not fu**ing read, I said my Dad would buy me a new or used S. And plus I might not even get one. And why would I be on this forum if I wanted to dreive it for status? And you say I might crash it? Damn dude you really need to trhink before you pound away on that keyboard. My point is that you do not know sh** about my knowledge, how I was raised, and my driving ability. I really did not want to get into something like this but whatever. So hellspare I hope hell spares you for being such a retard once your life ends.

Thank you! This is what I am talking about. Just cause we get cars doesn't mean we are total spoiled kids that can't drive. I understand where youi are coming from but you are being wayyyyyyyy to stereotypical.
