Wasn't the AP1 0-60 time faster because it only required one shift?

The AP2 requires two shifts to reach 60.

but they both trap at 100mph or around that

the ap2 probably 'feels' faster with the gears and slightly more displacement. a properly driven ap1 would be just as fast.
thats why they say drivers race

Like everyone said, there really is no difference in speed between the two cars. However, the AP1 does have higher theoretical top-end with the gearing... so if you travel over 150mph on a regular basis, you might consider that.

I'd never lease a car, but it's more a personal thing. I like knowing that I own the car, that I can keep it as long as I'd like, and modify it the way I see fit. For some people, leasing can actually be a sound financial move.

If you are always trading cars in every 2-3 years, leasing will likely be cheaper. Leasing... $300/mo for 36 months will cost you $10800 (+ drive-off). Buying the car for $30k and trading it in for $19-20k in three years will also cost you $10-11k. You really just have to decide if the option to keep the car longer than three years is worth the increased payments of a purchase.

In any event... get an AP2. Buy an 04 used, or lease an 05. I was torn between an 03 or new 05, but I'm thrilled with my decision.
OC that's very true, which is why I also stated that buying a new car is not really a good investment either . New cars devaluate SO fast that I don't think I'll ever buy a new car. You can always purchase an extended warranty, or buy a used car from a private seller that you can trust. If the person on the other line sounds like they're 22 years old, chances are they drive it hard. If it's an older retired man, like the one who I bought mine from, you can bet that it's been babied and in great shape.

Buying a 3-5 year old car is a much better deal, and in the original poster's case, he can get an 02/03 for around 300 a month easily if he has good credit. Mine is around that and I only have a 42 month loan
