My ap1 trans does piss me off to be honest, the 2nd & 3rd gear crunch sucks! It has 80k on the clock, changed to amsoil mtf and installed brand new clutch and fluid etc and still have a notchy gear changes

They were still slight changes for a 10 year spread.

Think about how different a 1986 Nissan 300ZX was from a 1996 Twin Turbo?

A 1999 M3 and a 2009 M3?

Do you see where I'm going with this?
Different generations of cars? Look within the generation for those cars, and the S2000 has much more variability than normal. That is partly due to the fact that Honda let the S2000 wither and die as a platform rather than renew it in any reasonable term, so I understand what you are getting at though.

sometimes I wish I had ap1, they seem more raw.

We could trade and yes the AP1 is much more raw, I've driven one of every year except an 09 which is really an 08 and the 2000, 2001 is a much much more raw car. This is why I never bought a newer one I really enjoy the AP1 for what it is. But everyone seems to think the CR is going to be the car to hold value wise so why not trade

Oh and one more thing my tranny shifts like butta!

Instead of asking "Is my transmission crap?", the question you should be asking yourself is "Why is my friend trying to convince me my car sucks?"
Exactly what I was thinking. Your friend is JEALOUS of you. Learn to drive your car correctly and don't worry about the transmission.

and he says alot of people buy older ones and kinda just try to justify it by saying "Yea I wanted the 9K redline when really the transmissions crap and its an overall inferior car."
That's either exaggeration or ignorance...

and does the higher power band really have its own pros over the F22C?
Best answered by test driving.

[QUOTE=Petah78,Sep 20 2010, 08:56 AM]I thought skipping shifts were only bad on up shifts, meaning 1 -> 2 than from 2-> 5.
