Default AP2 Cupholder Slide... Stuck

I put my camera and my phone in the cupholder and slid it closed (leaving the top down while running inside the store). Now it won't open, the latch releases but the phone is stoping it from opening.

I don't want to break the gadgets or the car... what should I do?

NM, took the console off and shook the hell out of it.

Take out the console. Bring it inside the house and get to work. My guess is that once you give the stuff inside a chance to shuffle around, they'll release the door. I hope you've learned your lesson.

That's the only option for even accessing the cupholder. If it really doesn't work, just bust out the screw driver and start unscrewing. There's no harm in doing so and rather easy. Just remember where everything goes.

I can relate to your post!

Frequently, in my '04, the latch to open the cup holder compartment just won't move or sticks in the down position. This happens almost always on cold days and sometimes gets better as the car heats up. Has anyone ever experienced this problem with their s2000?

I did this the very first night I brought my S home. Took me a long time, but finally got everything inside to shift enough to get the door open. Never again!!!!

Its actually a common thing in my car, I use my cup holder area for change and whatever other misc stuff so it gets pretty full. This actually happended to me not to long ago with my cell phone and sunpass (auto-toll thing in Florida so you don't have to stop and pay the toll with change) and I sat on the side of the road in front of the toll until I could get my sunpass out, while my phone rang over and over again. I had removed that panel before when installing my radio and stuff so I knew how easily it came up. The first time it freaks you out, but its really easy to remove and you won't brake anything (unelsss you pull it REALLY hard). Just pull up on it from the sides, it will snap up. The only "tricky" thing is to loosen the wire hareness that snaps in the bottom for the convertible switch and emergancy light button, but thats real easy too. Lift the panel up a few inches and unhook it, then just lift it up.

Once its up, just shake it like crazy. Eventually it will wiggle loose. In the rare event that it doesn't you can unscrew it and just remember how it goes back together. Its not that much. However the majority of the time I think if you just shake it a LOT it will eventually shift around.

Don't sweat it, happens to the bset of us.
