First of all, i DO KNOW arc intake does not gain any hp or perhaps it looses some. But it's a nice piece of JDM

I was looking for ARC intakes for s2000, and i found something weird about them.
Older pics of the ARC intake looks different than the new ones.

Can anybody verify this?
Looks like the new style gets air from the front of the box, while older one gets air from the top.
Did they make changes because of the heatsoak issue?

I'll comment since the first engine bay is mine. They changed the filter design, the size of the side filter (there are two) and I believe the the shape of the underside might have been altered in some way. That's about it. There is only one style now though, the pic on the bottom is the older style. Also, depending on the year model, you may have to drop the A/C line a few inches for it to fit. I think 02+ fits fine without alteration.

 

Of course, you have to make sure you're buying from someone that doesn't have an old model lying around in the stockroom. They don't get sold much, so be careful. The rotory site should have the latest ones: http://www.rxecret7.com/arc-honda.html

 

IMO that is one of the better looking intakes avail. for the s2k.
