Currently radar detectors are only illegal in Virginia and Washington D.C.

I believe that radar detectors are only illegal in
Virginia and Connecticutt. Possibly other places
such DC or Florida as mentioned by others, but
I think it's only VA and CT.

The arresting officer can take it for evidence, but it will be returned to you at the trial. If the officer doesn't feel it is necessary to take it, he/she will most likely just record the serial number.

This may not be an issue if I can beg Rick to do a V1 install...

Ah here we go again....I'm sure this post will fall on deaf ears but for a few with a little bit of financial back-up. First off the V-1 is not the end of all end in detection (please PM Yellow S2000....pisses him off). I would suggest a $600.00 SR-! unit.....COMPLETELY PASSIVE.....NO RADIATION OR BLEED OVER which is the sourse of detection. Rare and provided by Cincinattii Microwave the parent companyy of Passport. The unit is completely concealed. I just love these V-1 posts......having had friends picked off to the right and left of me on a trip to Wyoming . 2 years running SR-1........not even a peep.

SR-1 doesn't seem to fare nearly as well in these tests as your post indicates.
