Attention Radar Detector Users!
I have decided to run the risk of the "radar detector ticket" and run one. I am going to mount it to the wind diffuser near the top, close to my seat. It isn't stealth like Rick's, but it makes it a little less obvious to the cop that may be looking for it. Plus, with a black unit in a black interior, it will blend a bit. Also, being close to my head, I should be able to hear it better if it goes off when I am at speed with the top down.
I'll keep you posted.

In virginia it's illegal to USE, not own. In D.C., it's illegal to OWN.
Utah, How can a completely passive device detect radar? I'm sure this is just a bit of verbal confusion, but somewhere along the way, that detector needs an oscillator (which is detectable, unless shielded) to downconvert the RF signal. Unless it uses REALLY expensive detectors at the frequencies of interest, it has an oscillator somewhere in it.
