I don't think I'll ever get black or a dak colour. Seeing swirls just makes me
No matter how well you take care of it, there will always be swirls.

It's a lot of work to keep it looking good, sometimes I question
my choice... and then I just get back to washing it!
After all black is the fastest color of the S2's.

I love my Berlina. Like everyone else has stated, it is a PITA to keep clean, but when clean it looks amazing. I wash mine 2 or 3 times a week in the summer. Usualy one good deep cleaning and then 2 good rinses and detailings. I also picked up a California car duster which blows me away. I use it everytime I take it out and it works wonders. It just picks up all the dust and makes it look like you just washed it as long as the dirt hasnt been there for too long. Only takes 2 minutes to use it on the whole car too!

I have found that if you stay ahead of the dirt by rinsing and using the duster, you won't have a problem. To me, no ammount of work is too much against the satisfaction that the way a black car looks. I can't wait for the first warm spell up here in the NE so I can go ahead and Zaino the whole thing. It should be even easier to take care of after that.

This will be my last black car. Looks good for 5 minutes after a wash and wax but every scratch or scuff stands out in black. Love my silver S4. Always look clean and as they say in Audiworld.com, silver is faster.

IMO there is NO substitute for a black car that is kept up, particularly with the S.

When I bought mine a couple of yeays back and they were still pretty hard to get I almost settled for a Silver - every time I pass one I'm very glad I waited!

Are they more work?

No question but if you stay on top of it the results are breathtaking!

I never regret making the effort.

I'm very bias when it comes to color choices on cars as i will only ever buy black as no other color does as much for me as a black car does. As far as maintenance is concerned like everyone already said its about twice the work to keep it clean than any other color. If you have the time to keep black clean you won't be dissapointed.

the car is small, so washing and wax is fast, there is no color like black and it looks best with the hard top because of the black weather stripping matches better than other colors IMO

The weather stripping is a good point. I have also noticed that areas like around the headlights and where body panels meet it looks much better on black because there is no difference in color. For example on a Spa, if you have the stock yellow hood, look around the edges of it, there is obviously a black strip in between the hood and the fenders that will stand out. On black cars that line is all but invisible.
